Folks sure love them some Spider-Man. The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was unleashed yesterday, and it immediately set a very impressive record. In just 24 hours, the trailer has reached 718.6 million views, easily making it the biggest trailer of all time. Really? More than Grown Ups 2?

Brand New Day Trailer Blew Past The Previous Record

To make things more impressive, the previous record holder was Deadpool & Wolverine, which reached 365 million two years ago. Brand New Day blew past that number in just eight hours. People are really pumped for this one. The trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which went on to earn $1.9 billion at the global box office in 2021, generated 355.5 million views in its first 24 hours.

The four Avengers: Doomsday teasers reached a combined 1.02 billion views, but that was cumulative over time, not just 24 hours. Could Brand New Day turn out to be bigger than Doomsday? Either way, this is clearly going to be a very big year for Marvel.

All About Brand New Day

After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man,” reads the official synopsis. “Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Jon Bernthal will appear as Frank Castle/The Punisher, with Mark Ruffalo back as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, who was last seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming. New additions include Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Sadie Sink. There has been much speculation about who Sink is playing, with Jean Grey among the more popular possibilities.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will hit theaters on July 31.
