Isn’t it strange how some people who play a role in a project’s popularity don’t know they’re a part of it until we do? Kate Bush was left feeling gobsmacked when he 1985 single ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)’ shot up the charts after being featured in Season 4 of Netflix‘s Stranger Things, and now a similar revelation is happening for the beloved musical artist Tiffany.
According to Tiffany, she had no idea her 1987 cover of the ’60s hit ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ featured in a Season 5 episode of Stranger Things until it premiered on Netflix in November.

“It’s wild and beautiful. When I recorded ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’, I had no idea it would have this kind of life,” she recently explained to Attitude. “To see it pop up in something like Stranger Things and connect with a new generation – that’s magic. It reminds me that music doesn’t expire. Songs find the people who need them.”
Tiffany went on to say, “Professionally, it’s exciting – it brings new fans to my shows. Personally, it’s emotional. It’s like watching your child grow up and travel the world. I had no idea they were using it in the show until it happened. I’m a huge fan of the show and I had all my girlfriends messaging me when it aired. My son thought it was pretty cool too – we share a love for sci-fi!”

In addition to Stranger Things, Tiffany’s ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ appears in Harry Lighton’s outstanding drama Pillion, as well as in Season 3 of Yellowjackets.
